Jeffrey Y. Lee, MD, CMD, was born in Chinese Hospital, Chinatown, San Francisco. His parents, Joe and Ann, immigrated from Toison, China during the Great Depression to seek a better life in Gold Mountain.

Upon graduation from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, he married his high school sweetheart, Teri Ong. After a honeymoon in the Grand Canyon they loaded up all their worldly belongings in a ’69 Malibu and moved to Houston, Texas to seek fame and fortune in the oil patch. Jeff worked for Humble Pipe Line Company and one of his jobs included a four month tour in Japan inspecting pipe for the monumental Trans-Alaska Pipeline project.

Dr. Lee attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.  He has been in solo practice since 1979 after completing his internship and residency training at St. Joseph's Hospital, Houston.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in 1988 was a member of a unique group of geriatricians in the USA that was awarded the first board certification in Geriatrics.  Dr. Lee is a Clinical Associate Professor for the UT Medical School and frequent speaker for Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Dr. Lee is a Certified Medical Director (CMD) for Long Term Care Facilities and the Medical Director of a hospice program.  He has served as Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Spring Medical Center.  He is a member of the American Medical Directors Association, Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Geriatrics Society.

In his spare time Dr Lee is an avid golfer and maintains a single digit handicap. Dr. Lee is a volunteer rules official for the USGA, member of the USGA Senior Amateur Committee and a Director of the Texas Golf Association.  He and Teri chaired a committee for the 2009 LPGA Tour Championship. He is General Chairman of the 2011 US Mid-Amateur Championship to be hosted by Shadow Hawk Golf Club.

Dr. Lee's community services include CanCare, Houston Golf Association Junior Golf and Chapelwood United Methodist Church.

Dr. Lee and Teri enjoy cooking together and traveling with their adult children Alicia Diane and Jeffrey Allan.
