Patlindsay “Pinky” Catalla is inspired by many things- from API movers and shakers to music and bakers.

Affectionately known as Pinky in the Filipino American community, Pat is a transplant from Culver City- Los Angeles, California.  She attended University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Women’s Studies Minor. Pat was very involved with campus activities, most notably as a Youth and Community Outreach Program Student Coordinator for Asian Pacific Student Programs for 2 years. After graduating in the sciences, her experiences as a student leader encouraged her to pursue a career in Higher Education.

 She is currently working in The Office of Student Outreach and Recruitment at Lone Star College-North Harris as a Student Outreach Recruiter. Pat spreads the importance of education and provides resources to all ages and ethnicities, most especially first generation college students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Pat is also a proud Advisor to Asian Student Association for Progress, the very first Pan-Asian American student organization in the colleges’ history which was created in August 2009 and was recently awarded Outstanding Student Organization of the Year 2009-2010. She was recently appointed the Co-Chair for the first Women’s Conference at LSC-North Harris.

 In addition to advocating for higher education, Pat believes in pursing her passions which include: creating Filipino inspired desserts for her small business, Patlindsay’s Pastries in hopes of having contemporary bakery, serving as the current Membership Chair for Filipino Young Professional of Houston, organizing Filipino Youth and Parent workshops, helping plan the Center for Asian Pacific Women Houston Summit 2011 as a Program Co-Chair, and singing and playing in a local band called Voicebox. Check out her sweet treats on PatlindsayPastries.blogspot.com.
